NTA Revises NEET UG 2026 Process

National Testing Agency has issued an advisory on biometric verification issues for candidates taking NEET UG 2026. The test is slated for 3rd May 2026 and candidates need to go through compulsory biometric verification post frisking but before entry into examination hall. According to advisory, there could be difficulties faced by candidates during biometric verification, owing to various factors including malfunctioning equipment, blurry fingerprints, lack of connectivity with UIDAI servers and medical issues affecting biometric verification. However, in cases where candidates experience difficulties with biometric verification, they shall be permitted to take test through a different verification method conducted at the center itself.


NTA has also specified that those candidates who are not able to get through the process of biometric verification for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test UG 2026 will go for identity verification through manual verification at their respective exam centres. As per this process, the candidate needs to show their ID proof for verification. Moreover, the undertaking form would also be issued by Centre Superintendent or Observer in exam centre and student is expected to submit this form after filling it. Once all the verification processes are completed, candidate is allowed to attend exam.

  • Exam Date: The exam date of NEET UG exam 2026 is May 3, 2026.

  • Biometric Verification: Biometric verification will become compulsory for entrance into examination room.

  • Alternative Verification: If there is any problem with biometrics, National Testing Agency can conduct alternative verification.

  • Admit Card Changes: Some minor changes have been made in NEET UG admit card 2026.

  • Assistance for Smooth Entry: Candidates shall be assisted by the officials for smooth entry process.
