The Karnataka Examinations Authority has extended the NEET PG 2025 Round 3 option entry process, which gives extra time to candidates for completing their choices. It was scheduled to be closed earlier, and now, it will be closed on February 10, 2026. In view of the revised timeline given by the Medical Counselling Committee, the move has been taken to ensure aspirants have ample time to lock their preferences for postgraduate medical seats in Karnataka. Final allotment results will be published on February 11, 2026, after the close of option entry.
This extension relieves many candidates who were worried about the overlap of dates between state counselling and AIQ counselling conducted by MCC. Pushing the deadline, KEA allows aspirants to study their options carefully with enough time, eliminating the chance of a mistake in choice filling.
New Option Entry: KEA has confirmed that all applicants for Round 3 will be required to enter in a new entry as their previous entries will be void.
Fee Payment & Admission: Candidates must complete their fees and admission procedures by the end of 72 hours after being allocated a seat.
Entry Verification: Candidates are advised to check their entries carefull before doing the final submission.
Karnataka has a number of NEET PG candidates that will benefit from the extension period for Karnataka NEET PG Counseling. Students will have an opportunity to plan better as there will be more time available to evaluate MD/MS/DNB program. In addition, students will also be able to take a close look at available medical college seat options and select which institution they want to attend in a more informed manner than before re-introducing NEET PG.
The extension of Round 3 option entry cutoff date until 10 February 2026 by KEA reflects its commitment to provide a fair, comprehensive, and equitable process for all NEET PG candidates through integration of the state counselling schedule with that of the National Reservation Placement Programme (NRKP) while affording greater opportunities to NEET PG candidates to explore their options and select their preferred course(s) and/or institution(s). This extension should enable candidates to use it wisely, ensure that they list their preferences in a very careful manner so they have the maximum opportunity to be placed at their preferred postgraduate medical education programme in the state of Karnataka.
